PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT OF LAND OFF FORDHAM ROAD IN SOHAM

Welcome to the dedicated website for Hopkins Homes' proposals to redevelop land off Fordham Road in Soham.
Hopkins Homes is pleased to announce that it has now submitted an outline planning application to East Cambridgeshire District Council for a high quality residential development situated on land off Fordham Road in Soham. Following extensive consultation with the local community, original mixed use proposals for the site had been dramatically transformed As a result Hopkins Homes is now proposing a solely residential scheme which features:
- 96 high quality new homes including a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses;
- A 30 percent affordable housing provision in accordance with local planning requirements;
- An increased area of on-site public open space;
- A vehicular access achieved from Fordham Road reduced in size from the original proposal;
- Sufficient on-site car parking provision in accordance with local planning policy; and
- Financial contributions as appropriate to fund improvements to the local infrastructure of the town.
The recently submitted outline planning application seeks permission for the principle of the development including the number of dwellings and the access. The detailed layout, design and landscaping will all be determined at a later stage through a reserved matters planning application. As Hopkins Homes approaches the detailed aspects of the proposal at a later date we will of course ensure that you are kept fully informed.
